Collaborate Using Folders

Folders be shared. Sharing settings for each Folder must be configured one at a time. Sharing a Folder also shares all sub-folders.  
To export references shared by other users, they must first be copied into an owned folder.

Sharing Folders

Click on Share on Reference and Tools Actions, then click Share folder

Click on Share a folder under Sharing tab in the Reference Organization sidebar.

Select which folder to share.

Next to a specific folder, click on Share in more options, under My Folders tab in the Reference Organization sidebar.

Select sharing settings choices in the Sharing Settings modal.

In the Settings for: section, view which Folder is being considered. To select a different folder, search, or scroll in the dropdown.

Choose whether to share with individuals or with organization.

When sharing with organization, all users at institution can join Folder to view Folder and sub-folders.

In Public URL: Create Public URL to share with anyone.

When Public URL link is removed, access to Folder is no longer available.

Publicly shared folders includes all sub-folders and attachments, if configured by Institutional Admin. Publicly shared folders allow for viewing references, exporting references are creating a bibliography.

In Shared with: Type in email addresses, separated by commas or semicolons, of users to share with read, annotate or modify access.

Click Share folder. 
Automated emails are sent to listed email addresses. Type in an optional message to the user.

Invitees receive an invitation email and see a notification under Sharing tab in Reference Organization sidebar.

Pending invitations and status is shown in Shared with section. Change or remove access per user. To remove access, click Remove next to email. Click Done.

Click Unshare Folder to remove all users from Folder.

Working with Shared Folders

Click on Folders at [institution name] under Sharing tab in Reference Organization sidebar.

All folders shared with organization are grouped together. Click Join to see the folder in list.

When a folder is shared with users, and invitation email is sent and the Folder is available to Accept or Refuse under Sharing tab in Reference Organization sidebar.

The accepted Folders, and sub-folders, appear in Reference Organization sidebar under Sharing tab. All tags for references in this folder are added to list of tags.

Note: To export these references or to synchronize shared citations with Dropbox (when enabled by institutional Admin), references must be copied to own list of references: drag and drop the references to a folder or select Assign to Folder.

Remove own access to a shared folder using the action menu in the folder's row. When removing own access to a shared folder, any tags that are associated only with references in that folder are removed from list of tags.

Ref IDs are unique to each owner, which may mean same Ref ID number for different references in shared Folder.
