To help promote the use of RefWorks institution, refer to the webpage template layout based on real life examples.  

How to get started

Layout options 

The template below is based on a webpage with two tabs:

Using RefWorks 

If website can't support multiple tabs, arrange the content in one page. 
If using multiple tabs, consider moving the RefWorks resources information to a dedicated 3rd tab.

Text in below template in [square brackets] and italics serves as instructions for creating the page.  

 

Getting Started with RefWorks

Welcome to RefWorks
  
[For academic institutions:] 
A comprehensive reference management service that maximizes research productivity with an easy-to-use tool for managing references and formatting citations and bibliographies. 

[For all institutions:] 
A comprehensive reference management service that simplifies research, collaboration, data organization, and paper writing.

[Add an image or a video, for example What is RefWorks reference Manager
 

Set up RefWorks account 

[If not using Single Sign-On (SSO):] 

  • Go to the RefWorks login page
  • Click on Create account 
  • Enter institutional email address 
  • Click on Check and select institution 
  • Enter a password and click Sign Up 
  • Check for an email from RefWorks and click on the link in the email to activate account
  • Login and fill in user information to complete account creation

[If using Single Sign-On (SSO):] 

  • Log into the institution's network 
  • Go to the RefWorks login page 
  • Click on Use login from my institution 
  • Select your institution from the list 
  • Fill in user information to complete account creation

Have an account but forgot password? 

  • Go to the RefWorks login page 
  • Click on Forgot your password? 
  • Enter email address 
  • A password reset email will be sent
